We had a magical time celebrating our son’s third birthday at the OKC ZOO SAFARI LIGHTS! It is a beautiful light display that you can experience from the comfort of your vehicle and/or as a walk-thru course.
Drive-Thru
We did both the drive-thru and walk-thru experience. You begin with the drive-thru experience that is on a separate course from the walk-thru. I recommend purchasing tickets for both so you can get the full experience. It took ~15-20 minutes for the drive-thru experience. There were over 60 themed light sculptures that highlight wildlife. Many of the light sculptures were brought to life through movement. There were several beautiful tunnels of light! My daughter loved the flamingo tunnel and my favorite was the lanterns. It was all so beautiful!
Walk-Thru
The walk-thru is an expanded pathway starting in the Zoo’s entry plaza and winding through the Children’s Zoo, butterfly garden, and along the lakeside. The walk-thru course features a musical light show produced by the Miranda Family of Edmond, interactive light exhibits, and photo ops.
The interactive exhibits were my daughter’s favorite. The light sculptures were huge and there were plenty of Insta-worthy photo opportunities. The musical light show was a lot of fun to experience as well.
Conclusion
OKC ZOO SAFARI LIGHTS will be open until January 1st from 5:30pm-11pm. Drive-thru admission is for one vehicle and up to 4 admissions to the walk-thru course. You have the option of adding GLOW PACKAGES to your tickets that include light-up wristbands, necklaces, and mixed souvenirs. Hurry and get your tickets here before the experience ends!
