March 1st is National Pig Day. I have some fun ways that you can celebrate with your kids!

Craft Ideas

I did a search for pig crafts on Pinterest and found some really cute ones! I really like this Clay Pot Pig craft that would be fun for toddlers. It is a cute keepsake for their room or outside when finished. Another fun one is these Toilet Paper Roll Pigs. You just need toilet paper rolls, felt, eyes, and some paint. You can make three and tell the story of the three little pigs.

Read & Watch

One of my daughter’s favorite stories is Charlotte’s Web. Wilbur the pig is such a sweet character. The Three Little Pigs is another favorite story in our house. The kids love helping tell the story and it would go perfectly with the craft above. These are both great stories to read for National Pig Day!

Babe and Gordy are two cute movies from my childhood about pigs. Your kids are sure to love them!

Our Craft

I found a super cute pig paper plate idea on Pinterest that goes through the story of the three little pigs. I let my daughter color her plate pink and color some eyes on it. She then taped her pig’s ears on the plate. She then taped pictured to the “nose” that we cut out of construction paper. We attached the nose to the plate and it was ready to flip through. That was it! So simple and fun!
