It has been over a year since our trip to San Antonio. We stopped in Waco on the way down, and I really loved it! I would like to go back for a weekend getaway. I was mostly impressed with the food there, and that is what I am about to share with you guys!

Coach’s xXx Smoke

You can’t go to Texas without trying out a BBQ joint. Coach’s Smoke was close to where we were staying and the menu sounded so good, so that is where we decided to go. I am so glad we did! We all loved the food there. They have so much to choose from and such a wide variety that everyone in your family is sure to find something that they love.

Guinevere loves BBQ so enjoy this picture of her and her daddy being very excited about eating some barbecue.

We started out with some loaded spuds that was topped with chicken, cheese, and BBQ sauce. These things were so delicious. There were 6 of them for an appetizer!

My husband ordered the two meats with two sides. He got brisket and pulled pork with potato salad and baked beans. The beans were amazing! He loved everything that he ordered, and so did Guinn. She likes to help eat daddy’s food.

I was pregnant at the time, so a lot of meat just did not sound good to me right then. So, I chose an adult grilled cheese that had chicken, tomato, avocado, and cheese. It was so good! I had a side of mac n cheese, as well, because I have to try mac n cheese everywhere I go. It was so tasty.

If we ever go back to Waco, I guarantee we will be eating here again!

Magnolia Table

The next morning for breakfast, I knew that I had to go to the Magnolia Table. We did not get a chance to visit the Silos, so I knew I had to at least try the Magnolia Table.

First off, they have juice. I am not talking about store-bought juice, either. This stuff is amazing! If you go here, you HAVE to try it. You can also get a flight of juice which my husband told be about AFTER we left. I did not see it, or I definitely would have done that. I ordered the Fresh Face which was Pomegranate, Green Apple, Lemon, and Pear. It was amazing & I seriously have never had something so good in all my life! I would go back just to try all of their juice.

To eat, I ordered the Farm Breakfast. It comes with two eggs, house-made tater tots, and your choice of sausage of bacon. I then added a side of Blueberry Lemon pancakes because they sounded amazing and I was pregnant. Their portions are big! Everything was so good, but I was not able to eat all of it.

Rodney ordered the Farm Eggs Benedict. Usually, when we go somewhere new, we try to make it a point to try new things. He had never had Eggs Benedict, but thought that this would be a good place to try it. He was right! The sauce alone was perfection. He still talks about how good it was.

Our daughter had the kid’s breakfast which came with one egg, two mini pancake, and sausage or bacon. She loves breakfast food, and she ate almost everything on her plate. An older couple beside us loved watching her and commented on how good she eats.

Magnolia Table thoroughly impressed all of us. I was afraid that it would not live up to they hype, but we were all very pleased. They even gave Guinn a cute little box of chocolate-dipped cookies from their bakery.

We only had a day to spend in Waco, and I cannot wait to go back so we can explore for a whole weekend! Follow me on my Instagram @hummingbirdandhousewife to see photos of all our trips and videos from this one.
