We were so happy to be able to collaborate with The Magic House on our trip to St.Louis this past weekend. You can easily spend all day here with everything they have to offer. It really is fun for the whole family and so educational as well.
STEAM Center
We started our adventure in the STEAM Center. The kids put on their lab coats and headed straight for the microscopes to see all the specimens up close. Valor loved learning about different animal footprints and Guinn’s favorite part was creating a chemical reaction with baking soda and vinegar.
Art Studio
The Art Studio was probably my favorite spot. The kids painted pictures and then we learned about Diwali and special traditions like Rangoli. We even got to see a live demonstration. We then made our own Rangoli patterns with chalk. It was a lot of fun!
Make-It Workshop
The make-it workshop was probably my daughter’s favorite spot. She loves to build things! She built her own car with a little help from her dad. They have several different areas in the make-it workshop: construct it, sew it, design it, build it, recycle it, and connect it. Sketch Town is connected to the Make-it Workshop. It allows you to color a vehicle and/or building, take a photo, and watch it come to life in a virtual town. You can also get a 3D version of your artwork from the printer to cut out and glue together.
Star-Spangled Center
My husband loves history so this was easily his favorite part of The Magic House. You can go on a national treasure hunt, vote at an electronic voting booth, sign the Declaration of Independence, and sit at the President’s desk in the replica of the Oval Office.
Music Play
A fun area where you can play oversized instruments, roll a ball to make a musical medley, and even play musical chairs.
Kid Construction Zone
Our son’s favorite area was the Kid’s Construction Zone. Grab your hard hat and get to work! In this area, you can construct a firehouse, design architectural plans, use tools, and play in a real construction vehicle!
SCOOBY-DOO!™ Mansion Mayhem
There was a fun Scooby-Doo™ exhibit when we visited. It will be there until January 15th. You will get to analyze clues and put your problem-solving skills to the test. There was also a fun, interactive game where kids could run through a haunted mansion with Scooby and Shaggy.
St. Louis CITY SC Soccer Training Center
New to The Magic House is this soccer-themed exhibit designed to help children learn more about the sport of soccer, imagine themselves as part of the team, and get excited about health and wellness through the power of play and sports! The exhibit features a team locker room, training center, and state-of-the-art soccer simulator. The kids LOVED this room!
Other Exhibits
There were some other exhibits that we didn’t get to explore as closely. These are the Children’s Village, Wonder Why? Early Childhood Learning Lab, Bubble Room, Wonder Works, and more!
We really loved our visit. It is a great way to spend the day with the kids! I cannot recommend this place enough.
