These tri-tip crostinis will be the biggest hit at your next gathering. Just be sure to make plenty because they are addicting!
Avocado Jalapeno Spread
To make the avocado jalapeno spread, take one block of softened cream cheese and add 3 tbsp of Jalapeno Pepper Puree from Louisiana Pepper Exchange (Use code HUMMINGBIRDANDHOUSEWIFE20). I added two avocados and a splash of lime juice. Mash everything up and mix together well. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Pickle Red Onion
It is so easy to make pickled red onions & they add so much flavor! Thinly slice your onions and place them in a glass jar. Mix together 1 cup of white vinegar, 1 tbsp of chili powder, 1 heaping tbsp of minced garlic, and a pinch of salt. Pour over the onions. Use hot water and pour it into the glass jar until the onions are completely covered. Let sit for 30 minutes at room temperature and then refrigerate for at least two hours.
Tri-Tip
The tri-tip was set out about 30 minutes before prepping it. I seasoned it with the PitBoss Sweet Heat Blend. We put it on the grill at 250* for 30 minutes until it reached a nice medium. We then let it rest while I started working on the bread.
Assembling Crostinis
Take your toasted bread and spread the Avocado Jalapeno mixture over the top. Place a thin slice of tri-tip on top. Top with pickled red onions, fresh cilantro, and salt & pepper. Enjoy! I promise that people will keep coming back for more!
