I have been in a home project mood lately. After installing our easy peel & stick shiplap in our living room, I knew that I wanted to add some type of shelving to it. I wanted it to be cheap and easy. I gave it some thought and this is what I came up with!
Items Needed
- 4 pack of white J brackets (purchased from Amazon)
- 5 pack of puck lights (purchased from Amazon)
- 2 boards from Lowes (whatever length you want; mine were 6inx5.5in)
- Stain (I used the color pecan by MINWAX)
- 4 mason jar lids
Step 1
We pre-drilled the holes into the wall and then hung the brackets.
Step 2
I stained the boards using the Pecan stain and then let them dry. I wanted a light wood color and I think was perfect! Here is what they look like without lights:
Step 3
I measured where I wanted my lights to be on the bottom of the boards. I then used hot glue to stick the lids to the boards.
Step 4
I then used the peel & stick puck lights and placed them in the center of the lids.
Step 5
I placed the boards on the J brackets and added some decor!
I love how it turned out! It was super easy and only cost around $48 for two shelves. I think it really adds to the farmhouse feel. You can check out my Instagram for a video on how it came together: https://www.instagram.com/hummingbirdandhousewife/
